Rain rain go away!

So, I felt the need to quickly describe my day because I think it is a classic "3 under 3 in nyc" kind of day!

It was pouring - all day.  The day started out OK.  Theo was in school and my double stroller has a plastic rain guard and I have a cute yellow rain hat that I bought in Italy so we were all relatively dry when Liam went to soccer.  Then, we had to pick Theo up from school.  So, Tess was in the bjorn, which meant I couldn't zip my rain coat; she was covered by a carrier cover (that I LOVE) but it's not water proof and while it kept her basically dry it managed to saturate and somehow migrate all that water onto me.  I had all 3 kids and managed to get to our car which I parked in front of our apartment (thanks to the street sweeper) and then left 30 minutes early.  God truly does not give us more than we can handle because I did not get a ticket!

Some friends came over for lunch, which was great and gave me a break for an hour.  Then nap time (Theo didn't nap but did play well by himself while I cleaned the kitchen and got us ready for the afternoon).  Today was our CSA pick up day so at 3:30 I loaded the kids in the car and we went up to get our vegi box.  Of course, it had been solidly raining all day but when we got out to get the box it was a total down pour.  I parked (illegally in front of a hydrant - again; God is good and no ticket!) put Tess in the snap and go and commanded my 1 and 2 year old to "sprint inside!"  Which they did!  We grabbed our box and sprinted back outside.  I had resigned myself to sit on my street until a spot opened b/c I refused to try and drag all 3 of them in the rain and again - God is good!- there was a spot right on our street.  So I ran the kids inside, sprinted back to the car for the vegi box, and managed to get us all in without too much drama.

Rest of the evening went as planned.  Tess had been bathed and put in her pjs and the boys were playing happily in the bath tub when our buzzer went off.  I thought it was our groceries, come 10 minutes early, so I grabbed the boys out of the tub.  I had to get them out of the bathroom or my 1 year old would try to fling himself into the tub so I carry him out and yell to my 2 year old, "Theo, get out of the bathroom."  He replies, "I can't, I'm going wee wee!"  Yes, he was peeing all over the bathroom floor.  No time to care, I pull him out to the hallway, close the bathroom door, cover them both with towels and sprint upstairs to the door.  Get my box, come back downstairs to discover my 1 year old, peeing all over the floor in the hallway.

A red letter day.  Thankfully all were in bed by 7 and I am blogging and having a drink!

love, Sarah

Welcome Tess!

On January 28, 2013 we welcomed Tess Evelyn Tintle into our family.  She was born by c-section at 9:10am weighing 6 pounds, 9 oz and a height of 19 inches long.  We have all been loving spending time with her and introducing her to our friends and family.  Theo and Liam are very proud to be big brothers.  Liam attempts to "share" his toys by dropping them into the moses basket whenever possible.  Theo loves holding Tess, giving her kisses and has informed us that "when she is bigger, then we can play." :o)  We feel so blessed to have this new bundle of joy in our lives and wanted to share a few pictures with all of you!
